Approaches

I believe in creating a grounded, compassionate space where you can explore your emotions at a pace that feels right for you. My work centres on helping clients feel safe, seen, and supported as they make sense of their inner world. Together, we create room for curiosity, connection, and emotional growth. I offer a collaborative, trauma-focused space where healing can unfold gently and authentically.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

  • Dance and Movement Therapy

My approach to therapy is much like building a relationship. I take time to understand your experiences, goals, and challenges, and we collaborate on the best path forward. While I may suggest certain approaches, you always have the final say. Along with EMDR, I offer CBT, DBT, ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), and Dance/Movement Therapy. A central focus in our work will be helping you identify and use your strengths to create positive change.

Trauma Can Cause a Ripple Effect In Your Life

Living with trauma can look different for everyone. For you, it might show up as anxiety; for someone else, it might appear as physical pain, anger, shame, or difficulty connecting with others. As a Clinical Traumatologist and EMDR therapist who has worked in mental health since 2007, I’ve seen the many ways trauma can shape a person’s life. I’ve also witnessed the transformational change that therapy can bring to those who’ve lived through experiences no one should have to. There is hope.

EMDR Therapy For Adults Living With Childhood Trauma

For every child who receives therapy early on, many more grow up without that opportunity. My work now focuses on supporting adults living with childhood trauma. One of the approaches I use is EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR is now widely recognized as a noninvasive and effective therapy for trauma recovery.

After years of working closely with children, their families, and teachers. I gained a deep understanding of how and where early gaps in support and emotional connection happen. This experience allows me to better understand adults who grew up without a consistently safe and nurturing environment, and how those early experiences continue to impact their lives today. This has given me a unique perspective, making me attuned and effective with supporting adults who are navigating the long-term effects of childhood trauma.

Parenting Support & Therapy

As a trauma therapist, working with parents is essential because parents are often the ones children rely on most for safety, closeness, guidance and emotional support. A child’s emotional development, sense of safety, and ability to process experiences are influenced by the parent-child relationship. When parents have unresolved trauma or don’t know how to understand or respond to their child’s needs, it can inadvertently create stress, emotional overwhelm or intergenerational trauma. I work with parents to create a nurturing home environment, strengthen the parent-child connection, and help shift patterns that may have been passed down through generations. This collaborative approach helps lay the foundation for healing that benefits both children and their families.

About Me

On a Personal Note

I enjoy spending time on my own, immersing myself in painting, dance, or music. I also love being in nature, whether tending to my garden at home, trekking through the woods, or climbing hills. Traveling is another passion of mine—I enjoy exploring new countries and learning about their diverse cultures.

Why I Decided To Become A Therapist

My path to therapy was shaped by the support I received from my own therapist as a young person navigating anxiety and school challenges. Experiencing the transformative power of being truly seen and guided inspired me to help others in the same way. That therapist’s support and kindness inspired me to pursue psychology and after many years of study, I graduated and became a working Psychologist.

In India, much of what I did as a Psychologist was to help young people in schools who were struggling with emotional, social and learning challenges. As a school psychologist, I found joy in supporting young people just as I had once been supported. I have always been a creative person, and within the sphere of mental health, I often integrate creative approaches when traditional talk therapy isn’t enough.

My Backgroung in Mental Health

Before moving to Canada in 2018, I had a career for twelve years as a Psychologist in an educational setting, helping children and families understand and address struggles at school. I collaborated closely with occupational and speech therapists, medical professionals, teachers, and provided assessments. In working with parents and families, I offered tools and guidance that better supported their children's wellbeing and success at school.

After relocating to Toronto, I worked in a hospital mental health division focused on anxiety, supporting both groups and individuals. I also worked with a non-profit organization serving newcomer families, many of whom had experienced trauma. This deeply meaningful work showed me how often parents of traumatized children were also carrying their own unresolved childhood pain. They too needed support and guidance while helping their children, so they could be more fully available for them. In my work with parents, I aim to support them in breaking the cycle of generational trauma.
