Sedâ Psychotherapy was born from a very personal place—one shaped by my own experiences as a therapist, as a child of immigrants and a diasporic Iranian, and someone who has spent much of my life moving between cultures, identities, and expectations. In my early years as a clinician, I often found myself wishing for therapy spaces that felt more nuanced—places where people’s stories weren’t flattened or pathologized, where their contexts mattered, and where their identities were seen as sources of wisdom rather than obstacles.
I sought to build a practice that reflected the kind of therapeutic care I believe people deserve: care that is relational, collaborative, trauma-informed, and deeply respectful of the worlds each of us carries.
Sedâ became that vision.
As a virtual therapy practice, Sedâ supports the mental, emotional, and social wellbeing of individuals, couples, and families across diverse backgrounds and life experiences. When I founded this clinic, I imagined a space where clients and therapists alike could show up fully—as complex, intersecting humans—and be met with dignity, care, and curiosity. The name Sedâ means “voice,” which reflects the heart of our work: helping people reclaim, strengthen, or reconnect with the parts of their story that have been silenced or overshadowed.
I founded Sedâ as a space where clients can show up with authenticity and feel genuinely seen, and where therapists could work with integrity, curiosity, and collaboration.
